Clay Target Shooting
Former Hamilton Boys’ High School student Bradley Parrott has been shooting for five years, with 2017 being his 6th year in the sport. Bradley began shooting in year 9, and has future aspirations to qualify for the New Zealand Junior shooting team for the 2018 World Championships, and to take up the Olympic discipline of trap shooting. He has competed in secondary school competitions, district and provincial competitions, and both North Island and National Championships. Over the past three years he has shot in two World Championships. The most challenging aspect of shooting for Bradley is the mental game. Concentration and confidence play key roles in shooting and Bradley says being a young shooter, he needs to improve the control of his nerves. What does he enjoy most about shooting? Seeing the targets break, and constantly improving on his techniques.
