Clay Target Shooting
Former Hamilton Boys’ High School student Bradley Parrott has been shooting for six years, with 2018 being his 7th year in the sport. Bradley began shooting in year 9, and has recently qualified for the New Zealand Junior shooting team for the 2018 World Championships. He aspires to take up the Olympic discipline of trap shooting. He has competed in secondary school competitions, district and provincial competitions, North and South Island Championships, and National Championships. Over the past four years he has shot in two World Championships, soon to be three. The most challenging aspect of shooting for Bradley is the mental game. Concentration and confidence play key roles in shooting and Bradley says being a young shooter, he needs to improve the control of his nerves. What does he enjoy most about shooting? Seeing the targets break, and constantly improving on his techniques.
