Courtney O'Callaghan : Bachelor of Business Analysis - Financial (BBA(Fin))

    Courtney O'Callaghan

Courtney's list of achievements is impressive, especially given she has only played rugby since 2010. The halfback was named Southland Secondary Sports Woman of the year in 2013 and it's easy to see why. Her team has won the South Island Rugby Tournament for the past three years and Courtney was named MVP in 2014. She also plays touch and rugby sevens, not to mention netball, basketball, tennis, and a little bit of athletics. Her Lower South Sevens team placed third in the Super Sevens series. She also played in the New Zealand U19 girls touch team in 2012/13 and 2014/15, and played in the Super Trans-Tasman touch series in 2013 and 2015. Courtney is from Winton in the deep south and is looking forward to the change of environment and meeting new people. She says trying new and different things is what keeps life interesting and she looks forward to the academic and athletic opportunities the University of Waikato will offer her. Her dream is to play rugby and sevens for New Zealand while also working as an accountant.
