Tara Given : Bachelor of Arts (BA)

Tara Given

Theatre Studies

Tara first began performing as a ballerina but soon looked to other ways to express herself and found the theatre. Her first audition was for the part of Bangles from Bugsy Malone when she was seven, but it wasn’t until she was 15 that she started to get heavily involved in community musical theatre and hasn’t looked back since. Tara says she loves the theatre because no two performances are the same as it is such a broad performing art with many different styles and characters to embody. Her biggest achievement was getting the role of Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family Musical for Musikmakers which led to a nomination for a ZONY award - an award for the best musical theatre pieces in the Waikato area. Tara’s goals for the future include expanding on her talents and looking for bigger performances. She plans to study for a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Theatre Studies and Screen and Media.
