The Alumni Association and the Alumni Office play key roles at the University of Waikato in providing a social network for graduates of the University and for recognizing the achievements of Waikato graduates. As a past graduate of the University of Waikato you have the option to join the Alumni Association.
THE UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO ALUMNI ASSOCIATION INC.
The Alumni Association is a membership organisation founded in 1989 with the belief that tertiary education is not a short-term activity but rather a lifelong link between students, graduates, staff and their University. Membership in the Alumni Association is available for a Life Membership fee of $150. The benefits of Life Membership include concession rates at the Rec Centre and the University Library, and subscription to the 'Off Campus' magazine, published twice a year.
THE UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO ALUMNI OFFICE
The Alumni Office is the point of call for past graduates and friends of Waikato University looking to remain involved with matters relating to the University.
Waikato alumni have contacts in most countries and look to organise reunions and get togethers as well as offering networking support for their local Waikato alumni. The Alumni Office also sells University of Waikato clothing and memorabilia which can be purchased from B Block annex.
In 2007, The University of Waikato launched the Distinguished Alumni Awards to celebrate University of Waikato graduates who have made outstanding contributions in their careers or communities. You can make a confidential nomination for the award through the Alumni Office website.
