Dr Raymond Richards

Raymond Richards was a student at the University of Waikato in the 1970s, completing a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English, one paper in History. After gaining a Diploma in Teaching from Hamilton Teachers College, he taught in Waikato schools. He then went to the United States and completed a Master in Historical Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In 1989 the University of California, Santa Barbara, conferred upon him the degree of Ph.D. The next year, Dr Richards started lecturing mainly in United States history back at the University of Waikato.
