Susan Hassall: Headmaster, Hamilton Boys' High School
Susan, who has an MA (Hons) from the University of Auckland, has extensive experience in education, and in the management of change in an organisation.
Current Headmaster of Hamilton Boys’ High School, Susan has held this position for sixteen years. In this role, Susan has seen the school grow to 2,300 students. She is an avid sports fan, and can be found strolling the playing fields of the School on Saturday mornings supporting the extensive co-curricular programme. Susan’s abiding passion is in enabling all students to realize their full potential, through high expectations, and a genuine culture of care and support.
Mrs Hassall has also been involved, as an Executive member, with the Association of Boys’ Schools, since its inception in 2002, and has an abiding interest in, and involvement with, gifted education, having contributed to the Minister’s Advisory Group for many years.
A contributor to the wider community, Susan is a Justice of the Peace, and a Wedding and Special Occasion Celebrant. She was appointed to the University of Waikato Council in March, 2016.
