Practical Skills Teaching @ Te Piringa-Faculty of Law

At Te Piringa - Faculty of Law we have a strong focus on the development of our students' practical skills.

Faculty of Law Competitions

Each year the five New Zealand law faculties compete in the National Law Students' Association Competitions, in client interviewing, witness examination, mooting, and negotiation - skills that are keenly sought after by employers.

Practical Skills LLB Papers

Modern lawyers need good skills in communication, advocacy, and dispute resolution - so we have made these skills a key part of the Waikato Law degree.

Secondary Schools' Mooting Competition

The Faculty hosts the Secondary Schools' Mooting competition for schools throughout the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Taupo, Hawkes Bay and Taranaki districts. Just as in a law court, this competition pits teams of "lawyers" against one another to argue a legal case before a judge.
