Programme Requirements

The Bachelor of Laws degree comprises a total of 480 points, of which 100 points are required from other subjects (some subjects and papers may have individual entry requirements).

Law 1

and four papers chosen from subjects offered by another Faculty, including two in a single subject specified as a "major" subject. Learn more about Law 1

Law 4

120 points at level 4 optional papers.

Please note that 140 points are required in total at 400 level and 160 points if LAWS426 replaces LAWS305.

To satisfy NZ Council of Legal Education requirements, students wishing to proceed to the Professional Legal Studies programme and admission as a Barrister and Solicitor must complete a Level 4 paper in Legal Ethics (10 points). Learn more about Law 4
