Alcohol.org.nz
The Alcohol Advisory Council's (ALAC's) intent is to promote, initiate and support a range of research and evaluation projects and programmes in alcohol related matters. The purpose is to develop relevant alcohol data for use in policy and strategy development. ALAC also wishes to increase the research expertise into alcohol related issues to further provide a sound basis for the evaluation of the strategies and policies implemented in New Zealand.

Health Promoting Schools
In 1997 the then North Health (now Health Funding Authority) contracted a three-year Health Promoting Schools pilot in the Northern Region. There are 48 schools involved in Auckland from as far south as Mercer to as far north as Kaukapakapa. A further 15 schools are involved in Northland. Schools vary from Primary, Intermediate and Secondary including some low decile schools.

This extensive site is an excellent starting point for sports related information. There's a sports facts section, information about individual sports and links to other internet sports resources.

Internet Research Project
Provided by Water Safety New Zealand, this site aims to provide resources for group and individual research projects relating to water safety. There is an extensive list of print resources available for schools, information on a range of activities that can be undertaken both inside and outside the classroom. Includes general 'water facts', such as drowning statistics.

National Child Care Information Centre

New Zealand Mountain Safety Council
The New Zealand Mountain Safety Council was formed in 1966 in response to a growing concern over an increasing number of accidents in the bush and mountains. Representatives from a number of government and recreational organisations formed an incorporated society with the goal of enhancing safety in outdoor adventure activities
