The Law Subject portal is now live
The Law portal offers quick access to useful sources for the study of law, including subject specialist materials.
Use the subject portals link on the left of the page to access the list of different portals.
Law Library now on Level 4
We are now open for use and have set up a temporary reference desk just near the lift.
As parts of the floor are still closed it is easiest to access the collection by taking the lift up to level 4. We have a temporary reference desk next to lift. Feel free to come up and have a look.
NZ Legislation RSS feeds

The Canadian Studies Collection is now available
The Canadian Studies collection funded by Tainui and the Canadian High Commission, has now been incorporated into the library collection and is available for use.
McGee's Parliamentary Practice text is now online

Parliamentary Practice in New Zealand by McGee (2005) is available in PDF on the Parliament website. It is full-text searchable. Some changes in practice have occured since 2005 but processes are underway to update the text to reflect these and ensure an ongoing updating process.
The Law Library is now open on level 1
The Law Library is now open in its new home on level 1. The reference desk will be staffed from 8.30-6 Monday-Thursday and 8.30-5 on Friday.
Law Library is on the move
We are in the process of shifting from level 4 to a temporary location on level 1.
There is currently no public access to the law collection so please ask at one the information desks if you require law material and one of the library staff will collect it for you. For reference services please call ext 8626, email us, or use online chat.
New Zealand Acts as Enacted Collection 1841-2007 on NZLII
This database contains the New Zealand Acts 1841-2007 As-Enacted Collection. It has been provided by the Parliamentary Counsel Office and is a database of New Zealand Acts from 1841 to 2007 as originally enacted. The Acts, which are in PDF format, do not include any later amendments or show whether they have been repealed. For current legislation and enacted legislation and repealed legislation since 2007

Legaltrac now allows unlimited simultaneous users
Legaltrac (and the rest of the GALE databases) have removed all simultaneous user limits. Previously we were limited to 20 people logged on at a time
NZLRs online from 1883 onwards
The full text coverage the New Zealand Law Reports has been extended and now covers from Volume 1 (1883) onwards. You can access them via the library catalogue or by going to the LexisNexisNZ database.
New Zealand Law Style Guide
The new nationwide style is available online from the New Zealand Law Foundation website

The first national legal style and citation guide for New Zealand has been published. It is available in the Law library at the call number KUQ48.M45
Shattering Statutes now online.
These PDF versions of the annual volumes from 1888-1894 indicate how the statutes were orginally passed and do not reflect subsequent repeals/amendments.
We now have access to the HeinOnline database
This database is available through the library's databases page. The individual journals within the database will be linked through the library catalogue in the next month or so. HeinOnline journals are also searchable on Google Scholar.
Skype and Virtual Chat now available.

English Reports 1220-1867 are now available online
They can be accessed from CommonLII and also HeinOnline.
