He aha te kai ō te rangatira? He kōrero, he kōrero, he kōrero.
The stories that frame our own history, our intergenerational legends, and the detail in the stories of our school’s data, all combine to paint a picture. That picture is of where we have come from, where we are at and where we believe we can be. Through the detailed analysis of these narratives a true sense of where professional learning needs and opportunities lie is created.
Unrelenting in my focus on learning, I believe in sharing the process of unpacking data, then asking the questions arising with all members of the community. Only by collaborating can we find real sustainable solutions to move forward. Honesty and open communication are my core values, I am willing to ask the questions that challenge teachers and leaders to inquire into their own practice and am not afraid of doing the work required to make a shift in that practice to ensure each and every student is given the best possible opportunities for learning and achieving.
