Accommodation and Conference Services
The University of Waikato Halls' mission is to provide Residents with an experience of communal living, which is conducive to social maturation and academic success
Accommodation on campus offers you a great place to live, study and begin life-long friendships. Waikato's Halls of Residence offer a safe, friendly atmosphere making them your home away from home. The Halls are within short walking distance to all the University's facilities: lecture theatres, cafes, recreational centre, swimming pool, the Library, shops, banks and much more.
The Halls aim to meet the needs of those students with specific requirements. If there are enough applicants, the catered Halls may have an alcohol-free area, single sex area, Kaupapa Māori unit and/or an International students' area.
The University owns and operates four Halls of Residence known as College Hall, Student Village, Bryant Hall and Orchard Park. In the Halls, you will be part of a community of students from both New Zealand and throughout the world.
Each Hall has a Residential Manager and a team of residential staff living on site, as well as housekeeping and office staff.
A large number of students live in privately owned flats and houses. Most of these are within easy walking or cycling distance of the University. The Accommodation Adviser has up-to-date lists of off campus accommodation offered by private owners and Real Estate agents of flats and houses in the area.
Situated in the heart of the North Island of New Zealand, the University of Waikato is set in 68 hectares of beautifully landscaped grounds, making it an ideal venue for conferences, seminars and retreats. Our Conference Services can cater to all your needs.
The Student Financial Adviser is located in the Accommodation and Conference Services Office and is available to assist you if you need help in managing your budget or are in financial difficulties.
