College Hall

College Hall comprises 267 fully catered rooms. College Hall focuses on providing a quality living environment that is safe and welcoming, has a real sense of community spirit and strives to assist students achieve their academic potential.

College Hall has a genuinely friendly environment where students are in charge of their own lives and learning. There are some boundaries in place around noise and alcohol consumption which are designed to make the environment safe and appropriate for study. Within these boundaries students are free to come and go at their leisure.

Staff will assist and advise students as they begin their academic journey with the University of Waikato. A big advantage of living at College Hall in your first year is that you are close to all the amenities to assist with your studies. Also you do not have to worry about food, flatmates or electricity bills. College Hall is a relaxed environment where you meet other students from all over the world and form life-long friendships.

 

Facilities

College Hall

The rooms at College Hall are all individual study rooms - you do not have to share! This means you can shut your door and have your own private space. There is a 24 hour computer lab, connected to the university network, where you can do those last minute assignments, or e-mail home. A large screen projector TV and a DVD room are available to watch movies, sports and international news when you feel the need to chill-out. The Leisure Centre is available for you to play table tennis and pool, or just sit in the quiet room for some peace and reflection. Other sporting equipment can be booked for your use on the large fields adjacent to College Hall. College Hall is situated close to the education and main library and is a short walk to most lecture theatres, shops and other university facilities.

Social

The Hall organises a number of special sporting and social occasions throughout the year. These include:
