Halls of Residence Overview

Mission Statement

The University of Waikato Halls' mission is to provide Residents with an experience of communal living, which is conducive to social maturation and academic success

Accommodation on campus offers you a great place to live, study and begin life-long friendships. Waikato's Halls of Residence offer a safe, friendly atmosphere making them your home away from home. The Halls are within short walking distance to all the University's facilities: lecture theatres, cafes, Recreational Centre, swimming pool, the Library, shops, banks and much more.

The Halls aim to meet the needs of those students with specific requirements. If there are enough applicants, the catered Halls may have an alcohol-free area, single sex area, Kaupapa Maori unit and/or an International students' area.

The University owns and operates four Halls of Residence known as College Hall, Student Village, Bryant Hall and Orchard Park. In the halls, you will be part of a community of students from both New Zealand and throughout the world.

Each Hall has a Residential Manager and a team of residential staff living on site, as well as housekeeping and office staff.
