The Student Health Service
Online Management of Your Health
Student Health are now offering all enrolled patients the freedom to manage your health and wellness online anytime, anywhere.
You're in control. ItsMyHealth gives you access to view your lab results, order repeat prescriptions and book appointments online. Please come in and ask your doctor, nurse or receptionist about this exciting new free service.
Smoking Cessation Support
It is not easy to stop smoking but we know that getting the right support can greatly increase your chances of success. Cessation support, a combination of behavioural support and stop-smoking medicine works best.
We have a designated nurse, Hanneke who specialises in helping you to quit. Simply make an appointment with her to discuss your options.
This will be the most important thing you can ever do for your health so don’t delay!
Quitline can also offer you help and support.
Drug and Alcohol Support
Illegal drugs and alcohol can have very serious consequences on your mental and physical wellbeing. We recommend the NZ Drug Foundation web-site as an accurate and current source of evidence-based information on all drugs (including alcohol & tobacco), their effects and the laws and policy that control their distribution and use.
We realise that university is a time when experimentation with drugs and increased intake of alcohol is all too common. We are here to offer non-judgmental support and help. The counselling service is also there to help. Please make an appointment with a counsellor, doctor or nurse if you feel you need help.
Alternatively, contact the Alcohol Drug Helpline 0800 787 797 or free text 'adh' to 234 and they will text you back. The Alcohol Drug Helpline is open 10am to 10pm everyday and offers free confidential information, insight and support with any problem, issue or query you have about your own or someone else's drinking or drug use.
