Postgraduate Research Month
The annual University of Waikato Postgraduate Research Month will run during October. Co-ordinated by the Postgraduate Studies Office, the month will feature various events and activities designed to build awareness of postgraduate research and develop a strong postgraduate culture on campus, as well as to recognise its place in the University’s contribution to community.
The highlight of the month will be the Th3sis in 3 competition which will showcase the cream of this University’s emerging researchers. With a first prize of $5,000 towards research funding to be won, heats will run throughout the month and ten finalists will be selected for the final. The final event will be an evening not to be missed, hosted by New Zealand comedian Te Radar, on Wednesday 26 October at the Clarence Street Theatre.
Other events during the month include, a student quiz night, information evening, ‘meet and greet’ sessions during campus Cultural Hour, workshops for doctoral students and their supervisors, as well as Faculty seminars and research conferences.
