Advantages of living on or off campus

On campus accommodation (Hamilton only)

  • Four Halls of Residence
  • Priority given to first-year students
  • 5-10 minute walk to lecture theatres, gym, campus shops and Student Centre
  • Residential Life Manager and team of Residential Assistants at each Hall
  • Organised activities and events throughout the year
  • All meals provided and rooms are cleaned regularly
  • Safe and secure environment
  • Academic tutoring offered

Off campus accommodation (Hamilton and Tauranga)

  • Flats, houses, apartments and homestays near campus
  • Responsible for organising rent payments, power, internet and other expenses
  • Need to bring your own furniture and whiteware in most cases
  • More independence
  • Proximity to campus varies from a 10 minute walk to a 30 minute drive
  • Suitable for older students and couples
  • Families with children must live off campus
