Master of Business and Management Specialised

Prepare to become a business leader or entrepreneur and gain advanced skills in one specialist area in only 16 months with a Master of Business and Management Specialised.

The Master of Business and Management (Specialised) (MBMS) provides a truly transformative education that will prepare you to take on a wide range of management and leadership roles.

You can start the MBMS programme in either March or November each year.

Over 16 months, you'll gain a well-grounded understanding of general management, as well as advanced knowledge in your chosen specialist field of business. Previous business experience is not required.

It's designed for graduates of any bachelor's degree – from arts and engineering to teaching and social sciences – who wish to become a future business leader and expand their career options.

Your learning experience is designed to be practical, challenging and inspiring.

In the first year, you'll hone your skills in areas such as leading and managing teams, planning for strategic growth, marketing, digital business, economics and financial analysis, human resources, supply chain, and much more.

  • You'll work in teams to develop an entrepreneurial start-up business, and then pitch your business plan to a group of senior executives.
  • You'll complete a month-long internship at a local business. We organise all internships on your behalf.
  • Visits to local businesses are a feature of this programme.
  • You'll develop strong communication and problem solving skills;  and gain the confidence to lead teams and manage organisational change.

In the last four months of the MBMS, you'll specialise in a particular area of business that you're passionate about. Choose from:

  • Accounting
  • Agribusiness
  • Finance
  • International Management
  • Public Relations
