Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts
Jeremy Tomkins completed conjoint degrees in a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Teaching Primary (2012 - 2015), and was accepted in the Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship programme.
He decided to continue studying for the one-year Master of Business and Management (MBM) (2015 - 2016) to complement his existing skillset.
Jeremy is now working as a primary school teacher in Hamilton, and hopes to become a school principal one day so he can positively influence primary and intermediate education.
During his school days at Tauranga Boys' College, Jeremy performed in plays and musical productions, competed in speech competitions, and participated in the Tauranga Festival of Performing Arts on several occasions. He was also in his school’s winning entry in the Bay of Plenty Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival.
As a university student at Waikato, he has continued to be involved in the performing arts through the Carving in Ice theater company in Hamilton.
Jeremy was the stage manager and set designer/builder for the 10-year Hillary Scholarship show 'Blue Stockings', held at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts in November 2015.
