Annual Conference 2007
Taboo: The Forbidden/Forbidding Subject of Anthroplogy

Friday 16th to Sunday 18th November
University of Waikato ~ Hamilton ~ New Zealand

The 32nd annual ASAA/NZ conference will be held on the campus of the University of Waikato. The conference theme is ‘Taboo' and a call for papers has been issued along with an explanation of the theme.

While the programme already has enough papers and presenters to fill the two days designated for academic presentations, we recognise that participation often depends on being accepted into the programme. We have the capacity to run parallel sessions and are willing to consider more submissions that are pursuant to the theme or that can be allocated to general topics. Please contact the organisers if you wish to take part. The final deadline for abstracts is now 5 October.

Most of the conference will take place in lecture theatres KG.11 and KG.09 in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences complex on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November.

More details of the draft conference programme are elsewhere on this website.

The ASAA/NZ Annual General Meeting will take place after conference papers have finished for the day on Saturday 17 November (c 4.30 pm). If you have items of business for the agenda, please contact the Association Secretary, Sita Venkateswar of Massey University.
