Passion is a power spring and Kimberly Muncaster's passion has sprung her into performing arts success.
Originally from Tokoroa, Kimberly enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts at Waikato University in 2006 and chose to study Theatre Studies and English, subjects which would nurture her passion for theatre and performance and her love of literature.
"I was unsure as to what I wanted to do as a career so I started with a degree in something I knew I loved doing and went from there," she says.
"I had enthusiastic, passionate teachers across the board, which provided me with undiscovered knowledge and skill. I was particularly honoured to have John Davies as my lecturer, whose support and concern saw me through my degree."
In her second year of study, Kimberly received the prestigious Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship for all round excellence, development and leadership in her studies and creative and performing art.
"I had complete financial and creative support throughout the rest of my studies. This made my University experience very rich as it provided a number of opportunities to perform, advance skills in acting, and learn about my art."
Kimberly has now finished her bachelors degree, has gained a graduate diploma in teaching (secondary), and is currently completing her honours in Theatre Studies. Her aspirations vary from being a Drama teacher or lecturer to owning and running her own theatre company.
