Graduate Diploma (GradDip)
Admission | Requirements | Subjects | Calendar Regulations
Students who do not have a substantial component of a particular subject in their undergraduate degree can enrol in a Graduate Diploma to prepare them for graduate study in that subject. The Graduate Diploma can also be taken for interest.
The Graduate Diploma is available to meet the needs of graduates who wish to broaden and deepen their knowledge in a selected area of study other than that in which they majored for the Bachelors degree. The GradDip may also be taken as a useful graduate qualification in its own right, adding another dimension to a student’s undergraduate study.
Admission
The admission requirement for the GradDip is a Bachelors degree of the University of Waikato, or a qualification considered by the Academic Board to be equivalent. Or, demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Academic Board that they have adequate training, experience and ability to proceed with the proposed programme.
If you are an international student seeking admission please visit this page for information about entry requirements and English language requirements.
Requirements
The Graduate Diploma comprises a minimum of 120 points at 100 level or above, including 80 points at 300 level or above in the Graduate Diploma subjects listed below, and including at least 80 points from one of the subjects listed in Schedule A. Normally it involves one year of full-time study (or more extended part-time study).
