  Research interests:
- Cultural and ethnic identity in NZ, especially conceptualisations of (settler) identity in biculturalism
- History, culture and politics in the Pacific, with particular reference to Tuovalu. Earlier work focused on history of religion but is increasingly turning to issues of politics and political economy; state, governance, post-colonialism, etc
  Capacity-building knowledge for sharing:
- I teach qualitative methods/ethnography and am willing to talk to those who are interested in learning more in this area
- I have numerous reading lists in this area that I am prepared to make available to genuinely interested/needy parties.
