Martin Lee

Oboe Teacher


Martin LeeMartin began playing the oboe at the age of 12 and completed his undergraduate studies at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne where he studied under Jeffrey Crellin. After another year studying in Brisbane with the famous English oboist, Anthony Camden, Martin went to Rotterdam in Holland to complete his studies with Emanuel Abbuhl.

Martin has played in a number of orchestras in Australia, including the Melbourne Symphony and the Queensland Symphony amongst others, before he took the job as Principal Oboe in the Auckland Philharmonia in 1995. He regularly appears as a soloist in New Zealand with the Auckland Philharmonia, Auckland Chamber Orchestra and the Dunedin Sinfonia.
