The graduate programme in Social Policy will provide students with an understanding of social policy issues, strong research skills and the ability to critically analyse current topics.
BSocSc(Hons) in Social Policy, PGCert(SocPol), PGDip(SocPol)
To be eligible to be considered for enrolment in graduate Social Policy papers, a student should normally have at least a B average in SOCP302 and two other 300 level Social Policy papers.

SOCP507 Social Policy and Ageing
SSRP503 The Conduct of Social Science Research: Qualitative Research
SSRP504 The Conduct of Social Science Research: Survey Research
MSocSc in Social Policy
Students for the MSocSc in Social Policy must take either a 120 point thesis, a 90 point thesis and one approved 500 level paper, or a 60 point dissertation and two approved 500 level papers.
Entry to the MSocSc is open to suitably qualified candidates who have completed the core papers for the BSocSc(Hons) in Social Policy.
GradCert(SocPol) & GradDip(SocPol)
These qualifications are available to graduates who have not included the Social Policy at an advanced level in their first degree.
Each programme of study must include:
SOCP206 Social Policy and New Zealand
SOCP302 Social Policy
SOCP303 Analysis of Social Policy Issues
SSRP307 Techniques for Social Science Research: Quantitative Analysis
and a further 40 points at 300 level in Social Policy
