This paper offers students an opportunity to engage in in-depth critique and analysis of Indigenous peoples’ experiences of crime control in settler colonial contexts. By focussing on the ‘big four’ settler colonial jurisdictions, Aotearoa New Zealand, Canada, the US and Australia, the paper is also designed to introduce students to the methodologies of comparative criminological inquiry.
