Celebrate the Māori New Year with a vibrant display exploring the cultural and celestial significance of Matariki and Puanga.

This year’s display explores the cultural and astronomical significance of Matariki and Puanga, with a focus on regional distinctions in Te Moana Nui a Kiwa (Pacific Ocean and People), shared cultural values, and the enduring significance of mātauranga Māori.

Visitors are invited to join a Mahi Māreikura tour, contribute to the remembrance wall, and explore a curated reading list. This is a time to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate mātauranga Māori through the stories of the stars.

Open to all students, staff, and the wider university community.
