Hauora is about learning in health and movement contexts to promote the well-being of learners and of society. This paper explores traditional understandings of hauora, Māori nuances of well-being and health and physical education in Māori-medium educational settings, in order to develop skills and knowledge to re-imagine this learning area. In learning to teach in the Hauora, students examine how planning for learning and effectively managing the learning environment, supports the development of inclusive learning opportunities that meet the diverse needs of learners.
