Join us at the University of Waikato to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.
Te Wiki takes place from 14 – 20 September 2025.

Te Raupapa Whītiki are having a kaitahi, kemu & waiata Māori in the Matariki Courtyard to celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. Its open to everyone, just a space to connect, chill and celebrate te reo Māori.

Whakaaturanga Reo Māori | Māori Language Display

Celebrate te reo Māori all week in Te Ihi o te Manawataki! Our display highlights key moments in the journey of te reo Māori, alongside taonga from the University’s library collection. While you’re here, enjoy interactive kemu (games) including Ketu Kupu – a te reo twist on Scrabble – and Up the Maunga, Down the Awa – our version of Snakes and Ladders. A fun and meaningful way to connect with the history, resilience, and vibrancy of te reo Māori today.
