Event Support

Our team works closely with clients to ensure your event is successful from inception, to completion. Each element is customised to meet your needs.

To ensure a smooth event day, a venue host will be on-site for functions at The Pā and the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts for the duration of your booking. They will be there to welcome and assist you throughout your event, as well as oversee venue health and safety requirements.

For events elsewhere at our Hamilton Campus, or at our Tauranga Campus, our team will ensure everything is prepared for you prior to your arrival, including any on-the-day support that may be required.

Event Ticketing and Registrations

Eventfinda is the exclusive ticketing provider for public events and performances at our Hamilton Campus, including the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts. Proudly New Zealand owned and operated, Eventfinda offers event organisers a self-service setup, full access to sales data, a promotional and advertising platform, and a user-friendly ticket purchasing experience.

Registration options are also available through Eventfinda. Our team are available to discuss the best options for your event.

Marketing

Our team can assist with promoting public events via our website, as well as through our social media channels.

At the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts, there is dedicated space for posters to be displayed, and flyers can be made available for patrons at the Box Office.

Kahurangi Catering

Kahurangi offers a full range of catering options from small morning teas to large-scale formal dinners, back-of-house meals and crew and staff refreshments.

Kahurangi prides themselves on the ability to provide innovative catering solutions of exceptional quality, no matter the size or nature of your function or event.

For events at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts, Kahurangi operate Opus Bar which can be opened on request. From pre-show drinks and nibbles, to refreshments and coffee, a wide range of options are available.

Bay Venues

Bay Venues catering offers high-quality food and beverage service for events held at any venue within the Bay Venues group, as well as providing out catering to the Western Bay of Plenty. Bay Venues catering can provide a professional solution in line with your needs.

Hamilton Campus Parking

General parking is available on campus via Gate 1, 2B and 10. Parking charges apply Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm (except public holidays). You will need to either download the PayMyPark app or pay for parking online using the PayMyPark website. Be sure to select The University of Waikato as the app defaults to Hamilton City Council.

Do not park in numbered or named parks as these are reserved for permit holders at all times (clamping fees apply).

There are a number of accessible carparks available on campus which are freely available for use at any time. Visitors do not need to book these parks. Please ensure your valid mobility card is clearly visible on your dashboard.

VIP and event organiser parking spaces are available for events on request. Please contact our team to book.

Tauranga Campus Parking

There are no on-campus parks available at our Tauranga Campus. Paid parking is available on-street, off-street and in parking buildings. Visit the Tauranga City Council's website for more information.

There are two mobility parks available at the CBD campus located outside the Durham Lane entrance. There are also mobility parking spaces close to campus, both on-street and in the parking building directly opposite the campus on Durham Street.

VIP and event organiser parking spaces are available for events on request. Please contact our team to book.

Safe Walk

Unisafe is available to walk you to and from your vehicle if you feel vulnerable. This service extends to the University boundaries and does not include walking or driving people to home addresses or private car parking facilities outside the campus. Call our Security team to arrange and allow 10 - 15 minutes notice for this service.
