Analytical Services

Facilities include: High Resolution ToF MS, ICP-MS (with liquid or laser ablation sample introduction) and GC-MS, atomic absorption, infrared, ultra-violet, fluorescence, Raman and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy for both solution and solid- state including multi nuclear NMR; differential scanning calorimetry, particle sizing, and X-ray powder and single crystal diffraction. Gas chromatography with FID detection (GC-FID) and with mass spectrometric detection (GC-MS) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ion chromatography are available as is an FTIR microscope. The School of Science also has equipment and expertise for sampling, analysis and geochemical/environmental interpretation of waters and sediments. A custom solution preparation service is offered.
