Explore how steam-generating heat pump technology is emerging as a practical and scalable solution for industrial steam generation.

At the Ahuora Centre for Smart Energy Systems at the University of Waikato, we’re excited to be collaborating with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) to host a free, one-day workshop: “Steam Reimagined: High-Temperature Heat Pumps for New Zealand Industry.”

Whether you’re a supplier, consultant, or potential user of steam-generating heat pumps (SGHPs), this workshop will explore how this technology is emerging as a practical and scalable solution for industrial steam generation.

Hear from industry experts, technology suppliers, researchers, and EECA representatives as they share insights into the economics, practical implementation, and opportunities associated with SGHP projects.

The workshop will also highlight valuable lessons learned by the Ahuora Centre for Smart Energy Systems in developing New Zealand’s first steam-generating heat pump, in collaboration with Excel Refrigeration and with support from EECA.
