A study on principles of operating systems and networking and how they are applied to existing systems. It begins with the principles of operating systems, such as processes, processor scheduling, and synchronisation, and evolves to networking principles and key protocols used on the Internet. Practical work will be based on using *nix systems to develop concurrent network programs using sockets and TCP/IP.
