Our facilities boast the latest equipment in sport science specialisations, namely The University of Waikato Sports Laboratory at the Avantidrome and The University of Waikato Adams Centre for High Performance, in Tauranga. Both are equipped with cutting-edge facilities to test athlete performance, exercise and recovery, including an environmental chamber for altitude training.

Hamilton, Tauranga, Online

We offer a range of subjects at both our Hamilton and Tauranga campuses

A range of Health, Sport and Human Performance papers are available in Tauranga. Undergraduate students have options at levels 100-300, and higher-level papers are offered to postgraduate students as well. Online options are a part of the HSHP mix too.

Tauranga is also home to The University of Waikato Adams Centre for High Performance, one of our specialist sports science facilities.

Practical experience

We offer a range of undergraduate papers that have a practical component as well as those that exclusively promote learning from experience in the field of health, sport and human performance. These papers enable you to participate, contribute, learn and critically reflect on the area of sport and leisure.
