This paper critically examines contemporary approaches to coaching, skill acquisition, and performance development in sport and human movement contexts. Students explore how learning and performance are shaped through coaching practice, drawing on a range of theoretical perspectives and applied approaches. Key areas include motor learning and control, practice design, decision-making, expertise development, and talent identification and development. The paper develops students’ ability to critically analyse coaching practice and to design evidence-informed strategies that support skill development and performance across diverse contexts.
