Placement FAQs
Yes, while on placement you are not only representing the University, but yourself as a student and potential future employee. It is important to ensure that you are wearing your uniform correctly; clean and pressed. Hair must be worn up and contained and nails short without varnish. Students will also be provided with a name badge free of charge.
More information about where to purchase a uniform will be provided once you are an enrolled student.
While our preference is to locate your clinical placement close to your community, this will not always be possible. It is important for students to get a rounded experience and our clinical partners are located throughout the Te Manawa Taki region. We are unable to guarantee individual placement requests. Transport will be required, so please let us know early if you will likely experience difficulties in this area.
For our Midwifery students we may be able to accommodate a placement outside of the Waikato region. Please contact midwiferyplacements@waikato.ac.nz and we can connect you with the Head of Midwifery to discuss.
