- The University of Waikato Charter
This Charter is provided in accordance with section 159N of the Education Act 1989, and is approved by the Associate Minister of Education (Tertiary Education), with effect from 1 January 2004 to 31 December 2011.
The University of Waikato Vision 2005-2015 was approved by Council on 11 May 2005. This provides a high-level context for the development and implementation of detailed strategies to deliver the Vision over the next 10 years.
- University Strategy 2017-2021
The University Strategy, which flows from the University's Charter and Vision, serves as a high-level template for integrated planning across the University.
- Strategic Planning Framework
The University's activities are guided by the University Strategy 2017-2021 which was approved by Council in December 2016. Operationalisation of the University Strategy is underpinned by a number of strategic plans.
- The University of Waikato Investment Plan
The University of Waikato Investment Plan 2017-2019 was approved for funding purposes by the Tertiary Education Commission in December 2016 and a Plan Summary is available for download.
- The University of Waikato Council
The University of Waikato Council is responsible for the governance of the University, provides strategic direction and give final approval on decisions that affect the entire University. These decisions are guided by the principles of the Charter.
- The University of Waikato Academic Board
The Academic Board is established as a committee of the Council under the provisions of s.182(2) of the Education Act 1989 to advise the Council on matters relating to courses of study or training, awards and other academic matters, and to exercise powers delegated to it by the Council.
