Kelly Jury : Bachelor of Sport and Leisure Studies (BSPLS)
Kelly Jury has been playing netball for 13 years – since she was seven years old. This year is Kelly's third season playing for the Waikato bay of Plenty Magic netball team. Over the years she has received several awards throughout her sporting career, including being named the Netball Taranaki Senior Netballer of the Year in 2014. She was also a member of the New Zealand Secondary School Netball Squad in 2014, a member of the NZ Aotearoa Māori Secondary School Team in 2013 and 2014. 2016 was a big year for Kelly as she earned herself her first Silver Fern trial and was selected to be apart of the NZA Team and World Champion NZ Fast5 Ferns Team. It was then announced that Kelly gained her first Silver Fern Team selection for the South African/Northern Hemisphere Tour in January this year and became Silver Fern #166 debuting in Liverpool against England. One of her big goals this year is to be named in the final team to travel to the Netball World Youth Championships in Botswana later this year. Kelly thrives on being part of a team where she finds herself learning something new every day. She enjoys getting to meet new people and experiencing new places with all of the travelling she does. Kelly is highly self-motivated and committed to achieving the goals she sets for herself. As a Bachelor of Sport and Leisure Studies student, Kelly is proud to be a Hillary Scholar.
