Feel the power of an orchestra up close in this year’s concert with brand new music by Hamilton composer Janet Jennings.
This concert follows the journey of Pat, a brown teal (pāteke/pātētē), one of the rarest waterfowl in the world. Let the music take you on a journey from Coromandel to Wellington as Pat travels the country meeting other struggling wildlife and recognising the initiatives to protect them. You and your family will get to learn about the orchestra with each instrument depicting a character, natural element or theme in the story and taonga puoro (traditional Maori instruments) incorporated into the orchestra.
This concert is relaxed and fun, exploring the world of orchestral music, while also spreading the important message of wildlife conservation to the younger generation.
