Live and study all in one - Student Accommodation

Make your home-away-from-home one that is conveniently located on or nearby campus.

By living in University-managed accommodation you will have facilities and services on your doorstep including - a gym, swimming pool, sports grounds, cafes and more. Choose from apartments, studios, catered, and self-catered options.

Spaces are limited and early applications are advised.

2023 New Accommodation Discount

The University of Waikato is pleased to offer an accommodation discount for eligible international students who take up a fully-catered room in one of our residential colleges in Hamilton or a self-catered room in Tauranga.

The discount is the equivalent of eight free weeks’ accommodation.  The value of the discount depends on the residential hall or college chosen.
The discount will be offered to eligible international students who are new to the University in either A Trimester 2023 or B Trimester 2023, who are self-funded and are studying full-time in either an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme.  PhD students and families are not eligible.

Programmes you can start on campus in November 2022



1 Available to start online in November (G semester) and January (H semester).
2 Software Engineering stream only.
3 Major in Computer Science only.
4 240-point programme only. The 240-point programme is suitable for students with a non-ICT undergraduate degree. Students will complete a dual qualification and graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology and a Master of Information Technology.

Please note: Students who commence their study onshore in C2022 will receive a 20% discount on their first 120 points.  Students who commence online study with us will receive a 20% discount on the study they undertake online for their study in 2023.  Eligibility for this in 2023 is under review.  If you plan to start online and transfer, it is important to remember that you must be enrolled in full time study in order to be able to apply for an international student visa.
