Borders opening – 31 July 2022

The New Zealand Government has announced a full reopening of New Zealand’s borders from 31 July 2022. Visa applications will be processed from 1 August.

For a limited number of programmes, students will be able to join our online intake in November 2022. Alternatively, you can commence on campus in a limited number of programmes from November 2022 and all of our available programmes from March 2023.

A selection of programmes will continue to be available for online study in future intakes, for students who prefer to study flexibly.

Please note: Any student who starts online and intends to transfer to campus mid-trimester must be enrolled in a minimum of 45 points for that trimester.

*For students who are new to the university, this tuition fee discount is applicable to the papers studied online in B and C trimester 2022. If you are new to the university in C trimester 2022, the discount will also apply to papers you enrol in online for H trimester (January) 2023. The tuition fee discount and will be applied directly to your tuition fees. This tuition fee discount is available to students who started studying online outside of New Zealand. Students, who have returned home after the closure of New Zealand borders, are not eligible for the 20% tuition fee discount.

** This offer is current for students are new to the university in 2022. It will not be offered for students who are new to the university from H trimester (January) 2023.

1 Available to start online in November (G semester) and January (H semester).
2 This programme is available for completion online.
3 One paper only (INMGT517 available as a 30-point NET paper). For the MMS, available in subjects International Management, Strategic Management and Tourism Management only.
4 240-point programme only. The 240-point programme is suitable for students with a non-ICT undergraduate degree. Students will complete a dual qualification and graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology and a Master of Information Technology.
5 Graduate Certificates are available to start online in one of the following subject areas only: Digital Business (STMGT306 is available as a 15-point NET paper), Human Resource Management (HRMGT300 is available as a 15-point NET paper), Leadership Communication (LCOMM101 is available as a 15-point NET paper) and Strategic Management (STMGT306 is available as a 15-point NET paper)

1 Classes start on 31 October. Students will have a compulsory orientation from 25 October 2022.

Joining us in New Zealand

When the time comes to join us in New Zealand you will be able to switch to face-to-face teaching at either our Hamilton or Tauranga campuses*.

It is important to remember that when you transfer to New Zealand you must be enrolled in full time study in order to be able to apply for an international student visa.

You will be guaranteed on-campus accommodation in Hamilton*.
