Compulsory assessments

University of Waikato regulations about compulsory assessments are available in the Assessment Regulations. A student who doesn't submit a compulsory assessment would normally receive an IC (Incomplete) grade for the paper.

To mark an assessment as compulsory, follow the steps on this page.

The process below is available for activities that are in your Moodle gradebook, including Assignment, Quiz, Forum, Lesson and H5P.

1. In your Moodle paper, select the assessment.
2. At the top left of the screen, select the Settings tab.
3. Scroll down and select Compulsory to open the section.
4. Tick the box to the left of Compulsory Assessment? then select Save and return to paper or Save and display.
