About Beau

Beau Stowers is a graduate of Te Panekiretanga o Te Reo and is studying his PhD in Decolonising Māori Grammar. With over a decade of experience in teaching te reo Māori, Beau was the recipient of a Teaching Excellence Award in 2019. A Kapa Haka and Ngā Manu Kōrero judge, Beau has had numerous advisory and stakeholder roles for language and performing arts programs. His business, Kura Consultants Ltd offers expert advice on language and cultural capability development and translation services, and Beau is currently involved in a linguistics research project with The University of British Columbia, Canada that explores tense and aspect systems in human language.
