Selecting Items for the Collections
The selection and deselection for all Library Collections is guided by the Collection Policy and carried out by Academic Liaison Librarians, and the Law and New Zealand Collection Librarians in consultation with academic staff. Academics can also track their item requests - see Request Material for Purchase for more information.
Collections are assessed regularly and material that is no longer relevant to the University's teaching or research is withdrawn; low use items are placed in storage. Items in Storage can be requested via Library Search and are usually available the next business day.
New and Recently Received Items
Lists of new items organised by department and type can be found on the Resource Lists and Indexes page. Ebooks are not included in these lists but can be found using Library Search or see Guide to Ebooks.
Items not held by the Library
If we do not hold the resources that you need you can request items from other Libraries via Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery.
