Public Access to the Library
Members of the public are welcome to visit the Library and browse our collections, however, books and other materials are available for consultation within the Library only. If you want to use a photocopier in the Student Centre, please see the staff at the ITS or Level 2 Library Service desk for a photocopy card. If you are visiting the Teaching Resources Library, ask at the Service Desk.
We also offer a limited set of databases that the publishers have agreed can be used by anyone visiting the Central Library in person. These are also known as walk-in databases. Please ask at the Level 2 Library Service Desk for directions to the computer where these can be accessed.
Arrangements can be made for Year 13 students from schools throughout the Waikato region who are in extension programmes to have temporary membership of the University Library. This membership includes borrowing physical materials, but excludes access to e-resources. Students who are working in the Student Centre can make use of the selection of databases noted above. Such arrangements are made with the school, not with individual students. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about this.
