Celebrate Matariki at the Library

6 July 2018

July marks Matariki this year and to celebrate the Library has two ‘virtual’ memory boards where you can record your reflections on the past year (He Hokinga Mahara) and your aspirations for the year to come (He Anga Whakamua).

We also have a ‘physical’ memory boards and a display of various Matariki resources on Level 2 of Te Manawa. Come and add your memories to the boards. To conclude Matariki celebrations, these memories will be buried under a commemorative tree to be planted on Wednesday 25 July.

We'll also have a video of Associate Professor Rangi Matamua discussing Matariki and Māori astronomy playing in the Library. This week's celebrations will finish with a presentation by Associate Professor Hēmi Whaanga at 2pm on Friday 20 July in M2.23.
