Using My Interloan
There are three stages to the process:
My Interloan enables you to search millions of records to identify the item you require. This includes Te Puna (NZ Libraries), Libraries Australia and our University of Waikato Catalogue. At this point the aim is to get the proper bibliographic record for your request, it does not matter where the item is held. For journal articles you must search for the Journal Title in My Interloan. Once you place the request the system will automatically identify the best library to supply the item.
You can further expand your search to include Worldcat, which holds millions of records from libraries around the world. The Interlibrary Services Team will source from the most appropriate library.
Open the record of the item that you'd like to request and select 'Get It'. The necessary data is then automatically entered, along with your contact details. Please select ‘pickup location. The system will then find the best library to supply the item.
You can track requests by using the system-generated Request Number (ILL No) in My Interloan. Only active requests are visible as default. Tick ‘show everything’ to view full history.
If your item is delivered as an electronic document it will be attached to the Request Number as a PDF. Download and save to your computer. You get 2 chances and 7 days from the first viewing to do this. If you get any error message contact the Interlibrary Services Team on 838 4466 x 6514.
For print articles and loan items you will be sent an email to let you know to collect the item from the Service Desk you selected.
