The sixth annual Nga Tūmanakotanga Symposium - Understanding Prison Violence in Aotearoa VI

Interpersonal aggression is a global concern and a significant cause of death around the world. In prisons, the human, financial, and health burden of violence is a significant social issue. The aims of Nga Tūmanakotanga are to understand and decrease physical, sexual, psychological and structural harm and improve safety and wellbeing for those who reside and work in prison settings in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our sixth annual symposium draws together a range of perspectives from across the ‘prison ecology’ and honours local and international voices from industry, academia and community to illuminate the causes and control of violence in New Zealand's prison spaces.
