Join us for an afternoon of rich musical dialogue featuring two of New Zealand’s most accomplished Indian classical musicians.
Manjit Singh, an esteemed tabla player and music educator, brings decades of performance mastery rooted in the Punjab Gharana tradition. A disciple of the legendary Ustad Fazal Qureshi and a current Professional Teaching Fellow at the University of Auckland, Manjit’s career spans prestigious stages worldwide—from the ICC Cricket World Cup opening ceremony to performances for dignitaries and collaborations with artists such as Nathan Haines and Avantdale Bowling Club.
He is joined by the gifted Daljeet Kaur, an accomplished vocalist and harmonium player known for her expressive depth and technical grace. Together, they create a captivating concert experience that moves seamlessly between classical rigor and emotive improvisation.
In this special performance, expect a repertoire that honors traditional Indian classical forms while embracing the spontaneity of live dialogue between tabla and harmonium. The duo’s synergy promises an immersive and uplifting musical journey—one that celebrates tradition, creativity, and connection.
