Tauranga business people had an opportunity to find out more about the University and Bay of Plenty Polytechnic partnership in August at a monthly Chamber of Commerce networking event.
Every month different member organisations take turns to host Business After 5 at their own premises to showcase their products and services, while networking with other business people.
This month it was the academic sector’s turn with the University and Polytechnic jointly hosting the event at the central city Bongard Centre campus. About 100 staff and business people turned up to hear Polytechnic Academic Director Dr Terry Fulljames and University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Doug Sutton talk about what the partnership means to business and how the Bay’s plans for tertiary education are progressing.
Many ex-Polytechnic and Waikato students who are now local business owners showed a keen interest in the tertiary developments taking place in Tauranga.
